WHY SCIENTOLOGISTS ARE A 100% DRUG-FREE GROUP:
Scientology is based on the research and writings of its founder L. Ron Hubbard. The stated goal of the Scientology religion is to enable all people to achieve greater awareness and true spiritual freedom.
In Mr. Hubbard’s many writings on the subject, he observed that drugs present a primary impediment to an individual’s spiritual progress:
Drugs make people less aware, shut them off from the fruits of observation, destroy their ability to learn, shatter families and result in a myriad of disabilities.
Even long after an individual has stopped taking drugs, he can continue to be adversely affected by them as drug residuals remain in the body and can continue to trigger negative emotional reactions for many, many years.
It is widely known that Scientologists lead 100% drug-free lives, using neither street drugs nor any of the dangerous pharmaceuticals pushed as a solution to everything from depression to being overweight.
For Scientologists, the reason is simple: drugs (and toxins) not only threaten one physically but spiritually.
NOTE: Scientologists are not opposed to the use of medical drugs and antibiotics for the treatment of physical conditions.
