Churches of Scientology
Their Anti-drug Campaigns and Activities

The industry of Scientologists in the battle against drug abuse has been widely reported in the international press. Many cities throughout the world have issued commendations to the local Church of Scientology or its members for their anti-drug work—from Perth to Adelaide in Australia, from Madrid to Stockholm to Milan in Europe, from Cape Town to Pretoria in South Africa, and in more than 40 cities in the United States and 50 in Canada.

Scientologists have helped 250,000 people get off drugs and reached hundreds of thousands of others with their drug education programs.

That kind of result and impact continues to generate considerable public interest, and so to assist media in reporting accurately on Churches of Scientology, their anti-drug activities and their stance on the drug issue, the following up-to-date fact sheet has been prepared. It answers many of the questions commonly asked by media.
