11 Sep 2006 — Canadian Goalie Credits Dianetics Techniques with Helping Him Win in Life

It's not easy taking the heat as a pro hockey player, and at the age of 19 it seemed like it was about to get the best of a talented young man. That is, until he found out about Dianetics auditing.

At age 19, Ryan began his professional career as goalie in a new club in the Western Canadian league.

It started out great for him — his statistics were stellar and fans and teammates agreed — his performance was exceptional.

But he started making mistakes and suddenly everything seemed to go wrong at once. His winning streak ended. His team was losing games. He couldn't keep from taking it personally.

And as his morale sunk lower and lower, this young man, for whom hockey had been his entire life since he was five years old, confided in his father that he was thinking of quitting. He was no longer certain that he was cut out for professional hockey.

That's when Ryan's dad, a Scientologist, suggested he get some Dianetics Auditing.

The word Dianetics comes from the Greek dia, meaning "through" and nous, meaning "soul", and is defined as "what the soul is doing to the body."

Dianetics is a methodology which can help alleviate unwanted sensations and emotions, irrational fears and psychosomatic illnesses (illnesses caused or aggravated by mental stress). It is most accurately described as what the soul is doing to the body through the mind.

Ryan took his father up on his suggestion. And it made every difference in the world.

His life changed overnight. He was better able to recognize and deal with suppressive elements in his environment. He became stable and confident as the goalie for his team.

Ryan's new demeanor and greater confidence became apparent to his team mates. The local papers started praising his goal tending.

The team's statistics turned around and they even made it to the Playoffs.

And this despite the fact that they had been dead last in the League!

Ryan won the Most Valuable Player award for his team and a cash award from the regional division recognizing him as one of the "Stars of the Game."

And Ryan's advice to other athletes who start to burn out under the pressure of professional sports? Buy and read Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health and use it, to win in life.
