8 Nov 2006 — Scientologists Supporting Human Rights in Taiwan

The Creed of the Church of Scientology states:

"We of the Church believe:

"That all men of whatever race, color, or creed were created with equal rights."

And Scientologists are active in making these beliefs materialize in the world around them, by supporting campaigns to implement human rights education, thereby accomplishing what L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of the Scientology religion, intended when he wrote, "Human rights must be made a fact, not an idealistic dream."

Members of the Church of Scientology Missions of Taichung set up a local chapter of Youth for Human Rights International.

In Taiwan, Members of the Church of Scientology Missions of Taichung decided to set up a local chapter of Youth for Human Rights International, and take this message to the streets with a petition to implement mandatory education on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) is a program of the International Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance, an independent non-profit organization headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The purpose of Youth for Human Rights International is to educate young people on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights so they become valuable advocates for tolerance and peace.
