17 Jan 2007 — New Scientology Volunteer Ministers Web Site Providing a Whole New Level of Help

Since the release of the new Scientology Volunteer Ministers web site last October at the 22nd Anniversary of the International Association of Scientologists, the number of people volunteering to help through the web site has increased five-fold.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour in Mumbai, India provides one-on-one help, and training to groups, including local disaster management officials.

Forty people, most of them 19 to 25 years of age, have volunteered to join the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tours, to help improve conditions in developing nations through the technology of L. Ron Hubbard.

One young woman who was raised in Iquitos, Peru, a city at the mouth of the Amazon, is joining the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Amazon Goodwill Tour to bring Scientology technology to the people of her country.

A young German joined the India Goodwill Tour and is now training top disaster management officials in Mumbai, India after having completed training 40 officers of the Central Reserves Police Force in Delhi.

A young man from Lausanne, Switzerland, is wrapping up his local commitments so he can join the Australia Outback Goodwill Tour.

And at the same time, more and more people are contacting the web site for training, like the probation officer who wants to learn from the VMs how he can help the young people in his juvenile wards.

Meanwhile, Scientology Volunteer Ministers continue to help people every day around the world, like the former tank commander in Ekaterinburg, Russia who attended courses based on the Scientology Handbook and is now using what he learned to provide disaster relief training to the fire dept in his city.

Invalids in a hospital in India, labeled "incurable" and unable to help themselves let alone anyone else, attended a seminar in Scientology Assist* technology through their Goodwill Tour and are now giving assists to their fellow patients.

A police official, who was desperate because his own wife was addicted to drugs, has now helped her kick the habit, based on what he learned from the course he took with the Goodwill Tour in his city.

L. Ron Hubbard once wrote, "A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well."

For more information about the Scientology Volunteer Ministers program contact the International Volunteer Ministers Coordinator at the Volunteer Ministers web site.

* Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing, thereby greatly speeding the healing process. Assists are used to alleviate stress and to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment.
