25 Jan 2007 — Newest Scientology and Dianetics Center Opens East of the Urals

Just to the east of the Ural Mountains over 700 miles (close to 2000 km ) from Moscow, lies the city of Chelyabinsk, one of the major industrial centers of Russia. With a population of just over a million, Chelyabinsk is an important junction between Moscow and points east.

Staff and members gather in front of the new Scientology mission, which offers Scientology and Dianetics books, and introductory courses and spiritual counseling to the people of Chelyabinsk, Russia.

A center for education and the arts for the region, Cheliabinsk is also the home of the newest Scientology Mission in Russia — the Church of Scientology Mission of Smolino.

The mission, located in the administrative city center, is the third Scientology mission in the city.

The ribbon cutting ceremony signifies the official opening of the Church of Scientology Mission of Smolino.

Evgenie Degtyaryov, who established the Smolino Mission, is eager to serve his community with introductory Scientology and Dianetics books, courses and spiritual counseling.

At the grand opening Mr. Degtyaryov announced that the Mission's doors are open, and anyone wishing to find out about L. Ron Hubbard's tremendous breakthroughs on the spirit and life are welcome to visit and find out first hand what Scientology has to offer them.
