3 Apr 2007 — Scientology Disaster Relief Team for the Solomon Islands

On Monday, April 2nd, 28 people died in a tsunami that hit Gizo in the Solomon Islands when an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck about six miles beneath the sea floor and 25 miles from the island.

28 people died in a tsunami that hit Gizo in the Solomon Islands on Monday.

The Solomon Islands are an archipelago of nearly a thousand islands, 1,330 miles north northeast of Brisbane, Australia.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are needed.

Although the quake set off alarms from Tokyo to Hawaii, the earthquake occurred so close to Gizo that the 16-foot high waves hit the island before an alarm could be sounded.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are needed and volunteers from Australia, New Zealand and Oceania are being asked to contact their nearest Volunteer Ministers Consultant to join the relief team for the area.

Anyone willing to help in the relief effort will be trained.

Those who can help are asked to visit the Scientology Volunteer Ministers web site to sign up as a volunteer or help fund the project.
