4 Jul 2008 — Anti Drug Ads Presented at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Brussels Event

At a European workshop on drug prevention commemorating the 20th International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Brussels last week, the Foundation for a Drug Free Europe briefed concerned international diplomats and anti-drug professionals on its drug prevention campaign, which features a series of hard-hitting video ads.

Fabio Amicarelli, Director of the Church of Scientology International Office for Human Rights and Public Affairs, speaks to Piero Bonadio of the UNODC at last week's UN World Drug Day event in Brussels.

The Foundation for a Drug Free Europe is a member of the UNODC's Vienna NGO Committee on Narcotic Drugs.

Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Dr. Christian Mirre, former Fellow of the CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research), presented the work of his organisation and the importance of primary prevention in tackling the global drug problem. "Drugs are a plague in the world today," said Dr. Mirre. "They fuel sexual abuse, violent crime, perpetuate war and, perhaps most importantly, destroy individual lives. It's a problem we all face whether directly or indirectly, and if we all work in the same direction, we can do something about it."

The Foundation presented a series of hard-hitting ads that expose false pro-drug propaganda.

Dr. Mirre presented a series of anti-drug video ads produced by the Church of Scientology International for an international prevention campaign by Foundation for a Drug Free World. These ads are featured on the Scientology web site, the Scientology YouTube channel and on the web site of the Foundation for a Drug Free World.
