ivilization has changed more in the last century than it has in perhaps all of mans recorded history, whisking us breathlessly from the Wright brothers first flight to the terrifying destructive force of the atom bomb to mans first steps on the moon; from the Model-T to the advent of the global village of the Internet to far-flung space probes which send back strikingly detailed images from the outermost planets of our solar system and all, for some, within a single lifetime.
While technology has enriched us materially, the progress of science has failed to stem the escalation of drug abuse, illiteracy, insanity and crime. There continues to be the very frightening possibility that man, armed with an arsenal of weapons that could end all life on this planet, may someday, in some convulsion of evil, cause his own extinction.
Yet despite all this, people continue to hold onto the hope that tomorrow will bring something better. Signaling a return to traditional spiritual values, many are rejecting the soulless forward march of materialism with its desolate view of the future and looking for something to give meaning to their lives.
For millions around the world, the Scientology religion is the realization of that hope. Scientology provides the individual not only workable answers to the problems of living, but a path to increased spiritual awareness which can be traveled with exactness.
